Fitness Professional Review

On skimming through the Exercise Science Library, my first thought was "I have so much to learn," but as I continued browsing I discerned a pattern. In the same way that a valid philosophy is constructed from the ground up, beginning from the axioms of existence all the way to esoteric applications of esthetics, the Library integrates a vast amount of knowledge of (exercise) science, beginning at the beginning. It's very exciting to 'get it' as I'm reading the material; to know where the ideas come from, to see the foundations upon which they were built and to experience certainty that what I'm reading is truth. And so, even though it's clear I have much to learn, I see how I'm going to learn it all.

While I have had a lot of experience learning about exercise science specifically, it is absolutely exhilarating to be exposed to the fundamental science underneath it all. Where else has one seen an exercise book that first takes the reader through the laws of existence, causality and, of course, Newton's laws. I thought I learned this in school, but it depends what you mean by 'learn.' The way the I.A.R.T. has built idea upon idea gives me and any reader a superb scientific education and a terrific grounding in logical reasoning.

So thrilled have I been with my little renaissance that I purchased David Harriman's 'Introduction to Physical Science' as I really want to understand the foundations of all other scientific knowledge. Thank you for lighting the flame in me to take my education further. It was actually your exposition on the decline of modern physics that inspired me to learn the facts. I had been uneasy for years about quantum physics and relativity but was unable to pinpoint the reason, not sure how to frame my sense-of-life objections. When I saw how they could not not stand up to the laws of identity and causality, it all became clear to me. The fact that everything has a specific identity, nature and acts according to that nature means it cannot be anything else at the same time. That's a breakthrough for me. I will have much more to write about as I make my way through the library, but already it's the single greatest investment I have made in relation to education and exercise. The sense of certainty is inspiring and in acquiring real knowledge, this opus is far ahead of all others.
